blow that glass (or glassblowing I guess)

During my school days I was fortunate enough to have a glassblowing facility on campus. I took a class and loved it. Through that class I learned how to hot sculpt, use blow molds, sand-casting, mass production methods and a great deal of fabrication. I was fortunate enough to have a great instructor that truly cared about his students and pushed us to discover deeper meaning in our work.

Below you will see some of the work I did, all of which play with the theme of isolation or different somehow. One process I enjoyed was creating several copies of something then going back to deteriorate the pieces in different ways. A progression was created that I was fascinated to watch. Having the viewer bring a new eye to the deterioration was an interesting and new dynamic.

Take a peak at the deterioration below and add some new meaning to it yourself, or just look. Thanks!
